What are some really cool, must-see or do things along the way from Madison Wisconsin to Miami Florida?

We are traveling by car from Madison,Wisconsin to Miami, Florida and would like to stop at really fun stops along the way. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys ages 17 and 19 years old. We can go out of the way from the main route by about 2 hours one way to go see something worth seeing. We are also flexible in the route we take down to Florida. We love amusement parks, museums, aquariums, zoos, hikes, interesting eating places or anything else that is fun or unusual. We have very diverse interests and love variety. Please give us ideas for things to see and do.
