Can a Pink Shaving brush tree do well living in St Petersburg Fl?

This is Pseudobombax ellipticum which can stand brief exposure to temperatures as low as 30 degrees F. so I expect St. Pete would be Ok. Make sure the soil is well drained because it is a desert tree in its native habitat and doesn't like wet soil.
