Safety tips for a lone tourist in St. Petersburg and Pushkin?

I'm going with a tour group, so I wont really be alone most of the time. But I will be seeing a ballet in the Hermitage alone, and I will travel to Tsarskoe Selo alone as well. I speak only English and Swedish.
