What is Your Opinion on Grace Topher's character, Pete, in "Win a date with Tad Hamilton"?

It seems to me like Pete is kind of jerk despite his role as the girls' best friend. He tries to interfere withheir relationship many times ruining their fun. He tries to humiliate Tad which backfires. Although he is cast as the best friend, he does ntnoteem to be the nice guy who jsJustants the best for the girl. he seems lilikehe guy who would do any lowly thing to get with the girl whether it's for her best or not
